My love for trash cans continues, but I'm not using them for trash.

For some reason I like to reuse trash cans for other purposes, they are durable, reusable and cheap. Taking a cue from this website and ehow.com , I've decided to turn a trash can into a bin for growing potatoes. I used a mixture of filler soil, hummus/manure and some leaves. Now that I've done this, I should have mixed in some soil conditioner. How ever anyway you look at it, I am hoping on getting some potatoes in about 3 months. All I did was drill about 15 holes in the bottom of the can for drainage, fill about 6 inches with dirt and cover the potatoes. I bought these potato starters from Wal-Mart, however I am going to order on-line next year.
